Anushka Sharma detained for 8 hours at Mumbai airport
Anushka Sharma’s arrival to India after attending the IIFA weekend in Toronto was not pleasant. The actress was detained at Mumbai airport for 8 hours for carrying undeclared goods.
Besides the best actress trophy that she bagged at IIFA, some undeclared jewellery and expensive watches were found in her bag for which she encountered detailed questioning from the officials of the custom department.
The actress was arrived at Mumbai airport around 2 pm on Monday and during the regular check up the undeclared diamond and gold jewellery and pricey watches were found in her baggage. However, Anushka claimed that she had bought the jewelleries from India and has only carried them with her (therefore no paying duties) but still the charge of not declaring good before leaving the country was against her.
After a long and detailed questioning season Anushka was allowed to go home but still she is booked under the Custom Act -Section 75, 111 L, M and D and custom department has to verify the goods and their related documents.
